Description
On the stage, she acted professionally in her given character by every move of her body and facial expression, according to the storyline, persuasively and emotionally. At the back stage, she acted as truly as her real life role by every move of her body and facial expression, without a storyline, naturally and spontaneously.
I walked by a newly renovated temple near my parents house in central Taiwan. An outdoor Chinese traditional opera was on stage to honour all the Gods/divinities in the temple. I followed the main actor to the back stage during the break. Surprisingly, a sleepy boy stood up from a corner and ran to the actor for a long waited big hug from her, even with all costumes on.
The emotional tie of the child to his mother provides a very special depth of feeling to trigger my shot. The mind-scape of the moment was so beautiful to me. I hope this picture could transcend culture barrier and bring the same warm feeling to the viewers as it did to me!

I looked at it and felt the tender feeling automatically. Very rich colours and textures. The contrast of textures in the background against the constume and the boys shirt give it alot depth.

Yeah indeed! I like his real character even more than his role in the play.
