Description Just a documentary picture, sorry for the railing in the foreground. This engine was run at the Ogrodzieniec railway a few times, where it got from New Zealand of all places. For some reason its not run anymore (there was only one steam guy working for the place that owns it, he moved - that is one of the reasons). It was displayed to people for some time, and they took some souvenirs - parts are missing. But the owner wants to run it, I want to run it, the people who I met in Ogrodzieniec want to run it and offered help, so I guess we will figure something out. It is a very impressive engine.

If only there's a living example of the real 2-6-6-2T

That's a serious engine. This has to weight no less then a couple of hundred of kilos. Good luck with getting it operational again!

Hilariously the same Mallet that my friend Ross Grant built in 4.75" gauge as a propane burner. Β  Β  Please do lead an effort to make her work again, and then work as a driver!

Any details available on that design? I would need to see it. And thanks, I will try.

First of all you should know they are simplex, all the cylinders are high pressure and there is no presence of compounding or any reheaters of any kind. Β They were very pretty looking locomotives, they ran on three foot gauge track and were built by Baldwin. Β www.republiclocomotiveworks.co…

This is Ross Grant's live steam depiction of one; Β Β  Β  Β Β

I find it Odd how you and I are encountering the same locomotives.

Yes, simplex indeed. I find that on 'mine' there are a lot of tubes that seem to have a purely decorative purpose. Also, the threads on one of the safeties is broken. Should we machine a new one, or can a safety of that sort be bought?

This one of mr Grant's is a lot smaller, but nonetheless impressive and sensibly built. The one we have here has more 'model train' qualities to it.

I hope you can get that lovely machine back into operable condition, I've just recently visited a similar full-size Mallet compound locomotive.
