That is exactly the expression I saw in my head while he was staring at me! For being basically a ball with a light on it he is SO expressive.
And I imagine he is probably giving Chell his speech about loathing her and such. But don't worry, he didn't really mean it (I hope lol)

I basically spent the whole end of the game being bummed out that I had to accept that I guess Wheatley WAS trying to kill me for real. Oh well... and then the little clip of him apologizing in space happened and I LITERALLY screamed and clutched at my face like a crying girl at a Beatles concert.

I really love your Wheatley. I think he ranks up in my top two favorites. I love the look the big ears, pointy nose and weak chin give him. And the mussed hair. Appropriate balance of incompetent idiot, loveable idiot and dangerous idiot.
The middle one makes me want to pinch his cheeks. Just look at him. Even when he's glaring he's adorable.

I keep imagining drawings of your Wheaters in the amusing "new to a human body" situation. Probably cause I keep seeing fics everywhere of him being abruptly plonked in a human body and failing completely at it. Cause he would. Operating multiple limbs at the same time is tough business, amirite? XD Five minutes left to his own devices and he'd be tangled up in his pants or a wall of wires or something with Chell facepalming in the background. I also imagine he'd see himself as an accomplished athlete once he mastered dizzying feats like standing on one foot.
I think too much about Wheatley. Srsly, there's things wrong with me.

Perfect balance of menace and stupidity. I love the nose, and the piercing blue eyes! I also like how he's balding a bit and not oh-so-sexy like some of the other human Wheatleys I've seen around. Not that there is anything wrong with sexy, mind you, I just like your take on him.
