Description One bright sunny morning on the Island of Sodor, Bambi along with his friends, Faline, Thumper and Flower had come to the sheds where they met Thomas, Percy, Emily, Henry and Edward.
Bambi was telling them how he saved Mena from being attacked by hunting dogs.

"And the last one, I kicked off the cliff just before it could kill me!" the young fawn said.

"Wow!" said Henry, "Taking on a group of hunting dogs all by yourself? That's amazing!"

"Well, I didn't exactly do all of it myself," said Bambi, "I had a bit of help from Thumper and Flower."

"How did you help him, you two?" asked Emily.

"We'd rather not go into detail," said Thumper.

"Yeah...it didn't...smell pretty," added Flower.

"Oh," said Percy, "I think I see what you mean."

Faline then noticed Thomas seemed to be thinking.

"What's wrong Thomas?" she asked.

"Oh nothing Faline," replied Thomas, "It's just ever since I came back from the works to have my new wheels fitted, I keep hearing a loud squeaking every time I move."

"Um...we can't hear anything," said Thumper.

"Maybe it's just mice," suggested Flower.

"AH! MICE!!!" cried Henry.

"Calm down Henry, it's not mice!" chuckled Edward.

"What's up with Henry, Thomas?" asked Bambi.

"You remember when I told you that he got bricked up in a tunnel?" asked Thomas.

"Yeah," said Bambi.

"Well he encountered some field mice while he was bricked up in there years ago," Thomas explained, "And he's been frightened of them ever since."

Emily then figured it out.

"Thomas, I think I know where the squeaks are coming from!"

"You do? Where?" asked Thomas.

"They're coming from your new wheels!" Emily said, "They need wearing in to get used to your axles!"

"Hahaha!" laughed Flower, "Thomas is all squeaky!"

"Hahahahaha! You sound like you need oiling Thomas!" laughed Edward.

"Hahaha! You're right Edward!" laughed Thomas.

They all laughed.

Meanwhile at the docks, James and Gordon were arguing about the quickest way to Tidmouth Sheds.

"So you see James, the quickest way to Tidmouth Sheds is left at the junction!" said Gordon.

"No Gordon, it's right!" James replied.

"No James, left is the right way!" snapped Gordon.

"How can left be right?!" asked James.

"No, no, James, left is still left, but to get to Tidmouth, left is right, right?" said Gordon.

"Gordon, that's what I just said!" said James crossly.

"No!" argued Gordon, "Left is right! You see James, left is the right way! ALRIGHT?!"

"What're you two arguing about?" asked a workman.

James sighed "The quickest way from here to Tidmouth Sheds."

"I see," said the workman, "Well they say that the quickest way is usually as the crow flies."

"Don't you mean as a helicopter flies?" said Harold who happened to be there.

The workman laughed, "Yes Harold, or as the helicopter flies. It means the quickest way to get anywhere is in a straight line."

"Pah!" snorted Gordon, "I'm the fastest engine on Sodor! I can go faster than any old flying machine can fly!"

The workman laughed, "I'm not so sure you can, Gordon!"

James then puffed away, smirking.

"See ya later boastful Gordon!" he teased.

Gordon was now very cross.

"I show them!" he said, "Harold, come on! I'll race you to Tidmouth!"

"Very well, Gordon!" said Harold as he lifted off

Harold then flew off with Gordon following behind him.

Meanwhile, Thomas and Henry were just having a rest at Vicarstown Station, Bambi was in Thomas's cab as he hopped out.

"How're your wheels, Thomas?" he asked.

"Still squeaking Bambi," said Thomas, "But I'm sure they'll wear in when the time comes."

"I'm sure they will Thomas!" smiled Henry.

"What's in those trucks you brought here, Henry?" asked Bambi.

"Oh those are just some cheese for the market," said Henry.

"Oh I see," said Bambi.

"Anyway, I've got to help another engine up the hill," said Thomas.

"I'll come too!" said Bambi as he hopped back into his cab.

When Thomas and Bambi had gone, Henry dozed off in the siding. He was sleeping so deeply that he didn't hear Gordon smash through cheese vans.

"Ohhhh no!" groaned Gordon, "Oh the indignity!"

"Giving up already, Big G?" called Harold from the air.

"No I'm not, Harold!" snapped Gordon as he looked up at him, "I'll get cleaned up when I get to Tidmouth!"

Later that day, Thomas and Bambi returned and were both shocked to see the mess of cheese everywhere.

"Oh my goodness!" said Bambi, "What a mess!"

Henry woke up, "Hey?! What happened to my cheese vans?!"

No one had noticed that some mice popped out from Thomas's cab. They had climbed into his cab when he chuffed back down the line because they seemed to like his squeaky wheels.

"This is very strange," said Thomas, looking at the mess of fish, "Did you see what happened here, Henry?"

"No," said Henry, "I was dozing the whole time and- AAAHHH!!! M-M-M-M-MICE!!!!!!"

Henry suddenly reversed away in fright. This left Thomas and Bambi in surprise and confusion.

"Come back Henry!" called Bambi, "It's not mice! It's only Thomas's wheels!"

Bambi got back into Thomas's cab and they raced after Henry.

"MICE ARE EVEN SCARIER THAN THE RAIN!!!" cried Henry as he chuffed backwards down the line.

Thomas and Bambi were still chasing after him.

"COME BACK HENRY!!! called Thomas.

At Tidmouth Sheds, Emily was just chatting with Faline, Thumper and Flower when they heard Henry whistling as he reversed into the yard.

"MIIIIICE!!!!!!!" he yelled.

"Bust my buffers!" exclaimed Emily.

"Mice?!" asked Faline with surprise, "Henry, where?!"

"Behind me!" replied Henry in fright.

Thomas and Bambi came up. Thomas was panting heavily.

"Henry!" panted Thomas, "There aren't any mice!"

"Actually Thomas, yes there are!" smiled Bambi, "There's a few in your cab!"

Bambi came up with the mice following him.

"Oh! Mice!" gasped Thomas, "Henry, you were right!"

"Thomas, move backwards a bit," said Bambi.

Thomas slightly reversed and the mice followed him.

"Oh look!" smiled Thomas, "They like my squeaky wheels, don't they?"

"Sure seems that way!" smiled Bambi.

Just then, Harold came down and landed next to Henry. At that moment, Gordon came into the yard, still covered in cheese.

"Phew! Made it! All the way to Tidmouth as the crow flies!" said Gordon proudly, "Hahahaha! Beat that, Harold!"

"I'm already here!" said Harold.

"Oh the indignity!" groaned Gordon, "Oh well, at least I can have a wash now."

"What have you got on your face, Gordon?" asked Thumper.

"Cheese," Gordon answered.

"So that's what happened!" said a voice, it was Sir Topham Hatt.

"What?" asked Gordon.

"That cheese was going to market!" said Sir Topham Hatt, "Percy was going to collect it, but he couldn't because the vans had been destroyed!"

"Wait!" said Gordon, "Were those vans...the ones I crashed into?"

"Yes!" said Sir Topham Hatt sternly, "Gordon, you need to look where your going in future so that you won't run into other engines' trains!"

"I didn't know Sir, I'm really sorry Sir! I won't do it again Sir!" said Gordon sadly.

The mice began walking up to Gordon, wanting his cheese. Everyone began laughing.

"Hahaha! Aren't you going to share it?" laughed Bambi.

"What?! Hey! Get off! It's MIIIIIINE!!!!!!" Gordon cried as he puffed quickly away with the mice chasing him.

That evening, Thomas gave Bambi and his friends a lift back to the forest. Once there, Bambi noticed something different about him.

"Thomas?" he said, "Have you noticed?" Your wheels aren't squeaking anymore."

"You're right Bambi!" smiled Thomas, "I must've worn them in when I was chasing Henry."

"You had a busy day then?" asked Flower.

"Not really Flower," smiled Thomas, "You could say...it's been as quiet as a mouse!"

Thomas and his animal friends burst out laughing.
