Yes, but the artist didn’t spend hours on this drawing just to post it and have made into a base. It’s disrespectful to their hard work. And it’s good that you’ll take it down, but you shouldn’t be doing it in the first place.
I’m sorry but that’s the worst defense I’ve heard. Making a character and pairing them with canon characters is completely different from taking someone’s fanart and turning it into a base :/ Anyone can tell that

Not really. If someone creates something that’s their own, even if put into the anime/manga series’ world, it’s not an insult. The reason I said it was insulting to the original artists to make bases out of their work is because you just took their art and redrew it so that it was a base. You didn’t create anything of your own.

Doesn’t matter. Just cause others do it doesn’t make it right. No base makers should be using fan art. And that’s true, but it would honestly save everyone lots of trouble if you didn’t make these to begin with.
