I"m thinking now Steve and Hero have some sort of connection to one another. Kind of like how twins do, and that ring on their arms is their connection. Meaning Steve is feeling what Hero did in that one panel when he's crouched down.

Mmmmmmmmmini theory: Hero has that red circle meaning Steve and him match. So they’re connected, either maybe a fusion that broke up or it’s a mark of a God and Steve doesn’t realize he is one because he lost his memories for one reason or another? I’m thinking the ‘Fusion’ Idea might be more accurate given the whole ‘Unforeseen Consequences’ line so maybe it’s like they split but there was a problem given one or both halves lost their memories in the process? I could be wrong!

I know that obviously this is gonna be different and thus far has been such a fun ride but it excites me/makes me really happy knowing this drew inspiration from Hero's Bane...like jeez I remember reading that way back when, leaving long reviews on the chapters, and even having convos with the (very kind) author. It was such a fun journey and idk it makes me happy knowing you'd also read it  
ANYWAY
Looks like we've got repressed/erased, very painful memories involving...Mr. Stranger who we totally don't know the identity of I mean obviously they were very close. This seemed to be kind of like a "last stand" type of situation that they did not make it out of without those "unforseen consequences". I wonder why the stranger has beef against the people though :c or he's just trying to protect Big Mysterious Circle. Will Steve remember the stranger? Will the stranger remember Steve?

...But that circle is glowing a heck ton, and those flashback things? I see the circles in that second to last panel. I see the one blue circle and the red circle. And my brain is a theorizing away.

You're right, that was a terrible idea. (BUT MMMM, HAND HOLDING WITH WHOM, HM? I think I know, but in case I'm wrong, I'm not gonna say anything, so I'll still sound smart.) I feel like this is suppressed memories or something, though...
Also this page from the angle's to the glitch effects are gorgeous, I agree with the previous featured comment. ;3;
