I'm gonna be honest, I find the people that act tough and finally show their vulnerable side(s) always intrigue me and catch my interest more than the everyday 'cries at everything but grows stronger with the power of friendship' type of characters (not saying they're bad, just predictable)
From a story point of view, Hero's development is phenomenal. He goes from murder-happy to on-edge but willing to cooperate with people because of the dire situations in the first big arc of story, and now we get to see him being more comfortable with the people he's around. That makes me pretty happy, as a person who until recently never got that chance to really open up to anyone. He's so relatable, and the beauty of your art only compliments what's going on.
I always have and always will love your storytelling, Beanz.

oof the emotion on this page in particular is incredible. Hero's always been one of my favourite characters and his relationship with Sam is beautiful but also so tragic. You can really feel his torment at her loss.Β

Going to come out of my usual lurking to say that emotion and mood on this page is amazing, the lighting and shades of color to contrast ofΒ the memory of happier times vs the now is really well done. The last three panels really convey the emotions Hero is going through, not just the glow of his eyes and expressions which are done well but also the subtle change in the colors growing duller with his grief.
Also I did notice your comments of being unhappy with your art lately on the last page, just thought to let you know IΒ personally have been enjoying these last few pages. Though I only found Sundown more recently in the last few weeks (I have gone through it twice) and as cheesy as it might sound you have inspired me to get out of the creative rut I have been caught up in for the last while and work towards improving.
and now back to lurking I go.

I've been trying to improve my art lately, as I want to be able to balance speed and skill - it's getting there but it's a slow process! Also, well done on getting out of your creative rut, your art is super cute!!

You are very welcome. I always look forward to the next time a new page pops up in my notifications. Might be slow going with improving but I would say that you are defiantly more than on your way with getting a good balance between the two which can be a skill in of itself.

First of all, I love your effects and shading on this page, it's so good! It's so nice seeing Sam again after Hero has calmed, there was so much more between them, wasn't there? It's so sad... And seeing Hero cry is shocking, but somewhat makes me glad. He is allowing himself to grieve in a more healthy manner. I wish Steve and Vile was there to comfort him, but perhaps in time.

(I love- his mood eyes though. Like I knew they changed colors but I'm so out of order in the comics I never truly got to see them change this much, the last three panels are gorgeous. ;3; Poor Hero.)
Also one of her drawings in the bottom left of that pannel has someones face scribbled out, anyone else staring at that thinking it's sus as fuck?

Seems after 20 years of holding it back, Hero finally is able to grieve properly. After I lost my grandfather, it was only worse when I held up all my tears and sadness. To be able to see Hero cry after so long of being nothing but angry, it's very comforting to see and make me feel happy for him. Truly you can see how he's evolved as a character right here.

Never have I seen someone have Herobrine actually cry at the memory of someone he cared about. The Crafty Girls comic is a good example of Herobrine having actual emotions, which is somewhat rare in this community. Maybe it's just easy to pin the glitched character as the villain because of us not knowing where he came from, but this boi really needed to be loved like he should have earlier in the Minecraft community. I'm just so glad that you've made such a commitment to his character and to the personality that most writers simply skip over. Even before I was even aware of your comics, you had already proven your commitment to change our perspective of Herobrine. I can't say that I wasn't like all of the other writers and only thought of him in the dark, but I'm glad that I had painted him in a brighter light. This version of Herobrine is probably the best version of him, because we've seen him fall victim to his anger, his sorrow, and we've seen how torn he has become, and with Steven's help, that tear in his life has been fixed. This is probably the purest version of Herobrine because you made him feel; you made him have goals; you made him human.Β And that's the best part about your take on this white eyed man we see as a glitch.

This is the little girl who was killed in the village - she was born to a Spawn and his wife, but all that bad stuff happened etc. etc. Hero says a couple of times that she was like a daughter to him, before finally saying to Notch that she was basically his actual daughter

God the emotions are so raw in this scene. The fact he loves and cares for Sam so much is so clear through his words and body language. He misses her so much and itβs so sad. Really well done!

M YΒ Β H E A R T
The contrast in panels between the warm, light, past, and the panels of the dull, gloomy, present are wonderful, and both are equally beautiful.
But those last three panels? I love everything about them. And yes, everything.
The way the glow in the background fades in each until it's no more, the way that Hero's colors subtely fade and become more subdued, the way his eyes start that magenta with happy nostalgia before shifting to purple and then finally turning blue as the sadness crushes him and he begins to cry, the expressions on his face and the subtle shifts in body language... it's all so beautiful, and genuinely grabbed at my heart. It's not easy for me to get emotionally invested in characters enough to truly understand what they're feeling, but this? I can feel just a taste of how Hero himself feels, and it's just... it's just so impactful.
The emotions of this page are just so wonderfully done, and I congratulate you immensely on successfully making my heart grow sad.
