Making bases is wrong.
It is basically the same as art theft unless you have permission from the original artist toΒ modifyΒ their work and turn it into a base.Β

You could learn a lot from a book but if it's contents is plagiarized then it should not be sold or given to the public. It's illegal.
Bases can be fine if the people making the bases make them from scratch. Ripping poses and 'bases' from an artists hard work is wrong.

Firstly, the artist is obviously fine with it, (if not I see where you're coming from) and secondly, you need to understand that people have different ways of learning, and they can't just learn from a book (such as myself) and I don't upload them, either. Which, I can honestly see nothing wrong with.

If you can't draw freehand than use a reference rather than tracing. Drawing from life is particularly helpful.

Image>Attributes. Then check Black and white in the color box. When you done switch it back to colors and invent it again.
