Here are some tips in removing the background more easily:
- In Paint Tool SAI you chould go to Layer > luminance to transparency and this will remove the white and leave the black lines
- for other programs and SAI as well: you could set the layer to multiply and that way the white wont show over the colors or other lines.
I am sure there are a lot of other ways but this is just what I used before!

thank you! i tried both those methods[or atleast the equivalent in fire alpaca aha] but neither yielded the best results; i believe it could be because the lines are quite thin, but once i went over them and made it bigger it was a fun base to use! keep up the good work!

Oh, for FireAlpaca you can go to Filter > Extracting Lines...
That should do it if it is black and white!
