Why not just copy the shell32.dll from windows 98 to your Xp machine? that has all the 98 icons in it...

You could rip it from the shellstyle by your wouldnt be able just to overwrite.

True and all, but you could always just use the "Change Icon" bnutton on most things, or just mod your XP shell32 and replace those that are the same icon. Or even jsut remove the true colour icons from the XP shellstyle. All the older ones are there!
