The cameras could never find him. The scanners could never scan him. The doors never noticed he was there. But he was - he had always been there. Ever since Xephos had crash landed on this god forsaken planet Honeydew had always been by his side.

It didn’t matter that everyone thought he was mad, which he wasn’t. He was completely sane thank you very much. They were all just too thick to notice anything beyond their own noses. No wonder Yoglabs was going to the dogs.

Well, if they were all going to deny Honeydew’s existence be it on their heads. Xephos would not tolerate dissidence, not in his laboratory. They would all learn, and if they didn’t he would make them. After all, the recent breakthroughs in cloning technology would make it even easier. Yet, as Xephos tucked his knees in close to his chest and stared around at the polished metal walls of his bedroom, he couldn’t help thinking about all the things the staff said when they thought he couldn’t hear them.

“Have you heard what they’re saying about the boss?”

“Yeah, they say he’s mad.”

“His imaginary friend.”

Xephos gave his head a small shake and leant back across his bed, smiling, as he imagined all the missiles that would so very soon be raining down upon the capitol of Voltzan. This is what they would get for being so ignorant, so stupid.
