A Baby Lapras I designed about a year ago for the discord pokemon group Brume!Baby Lapras is a pure ice type that's raised in the colder regions to keep them safe from predators and then as they age their parents migrate with them to warmer regions.
Lapras make the journey to the cold region in a group and as a group raise their children together and hunt for food. They'll often hunt shellder as the primary source of food for their babies.
The babies then use the shellder shell as their own and will close it with their barbed tail to help protect themselves from predators.
Their front claws help them traverse the ice and cling/climb their parents better during long travels or storms.
They do outgrow the smaller shells and over their childhood will need several shells to keep them safe.
Eventually they'll start to hunt their own Shellder for new shells until they evolve.
In this image we see both the normal colours and the shiny colours.
