Vash-Afrai is a rare medical condition found in pure-blooded asari, not unlike Ardat-Yakshi. However, Vash-Afrai is a far rarer condition as recorded cases occur less than five times per millennium.

The reason behind the two conditions similarities is that both are caused by a certain configuration of genes in the same chromosomes, making the two mutually exclusive in the same individual. However, the similarities end here.

The Vash-Afrai condition creates feedback loops in the nervous system, mainly in the areas responsible for reproduction. These feedback loops have two consequences. For one, they enable a Vash-Afrai to procreate whenever experiencing climax, even without the help of a partner. Secondly, they cause most sensory input, especially touch, to be sexually stimulating. These two symptoms together cause a Vash-Afrai to constantly bear children, one after the other. Recorded cases also indicate a higher chance of carrying twins or more.

While a similar condition would cripple another species' female, the asari's cellular regenerative system protects a Vash-Afrai from life-threatening complications. However the cellular regenerative system is responsive to long-term stresses to the body. Because of this it adapts a Vash-Afrai's body to its condition. This in turn causes further complications.

The immense amount of births given places considerable strain on the pelvis. The cellular regenerative system tries to ease this strain, widening the pelvis until it is about 1.3 times the width and length of an average asari pelvis. The pelvis settles at its final dimensions around the 450th pregnancy, when the Vash-Afrai is about 400 years old.

The constant birthing also causes higher-than average lactation. This in turn puts strain on the mammary glands. The cellular regenerative system compensates by increasing both the mammary glands and the amount of adipose tissue in the breasts. Because lactation is hormonally induced the strain per cell remains the same, causing the breasts to grow continuously. Breast sizes large enough to overfill an asari's lap in a sitting position occur around the 300th pregnancy, when the Vash-Afrai is about 280 years old.

The cellular regenerative system also helps the development of muscle tissue in the back and legs, allowing the Vash-Afrai mobility up to their middle age. They are encouraged to develop their biotic abilities to their full potential to retain their mobility in their later years.

The constant pregnancies and continuously growing breasts both require large amounts of nutrition, making a Vash-Afrai extremely ravenous. This often turns into overeating, causing Vash-Afrai to develop soft arms and shoulders, thick thighs and love-handles, oddities in today's fit society.

Children born of Vash-Afrai resemble their mothers, but they are not clones of her. Because a Vash-Afrai essentially melds with herself the daughters' DNA is resequenced, allowing latent recessive traits to resurface. Because the condition requires an exact combination of genes to present itself, a Vash-Afrai's daughters are rarely Vash-Afrai themselves. Also, a Vash-Afrai cannot bear or sire Ardat-Yakshi because of the genetic relation of the two conditions.

Even though a Vash-Afrai is capable of parthenogenesis, theoretically it is possible for her to meld with a partner. However this requires her to suppress her climax long enough for the process to complete. Despite the odds, records exist of Vash-Afrai that managed to bear children considerably different from her other daughters, suggesting that such endeavours are not entirely condemned to failure. On the other hand, fathering children to other asari has no known obstacles.

Vash-Afrai means "Grace of the Goddess" in an old asari dialect. It reflects their status in early asari society: they were considered a blessing of the goddess Athame. As such they were cherished members of many communities.

A Vash-Afrai needs to be provided for. Because of this, communities with Vash-Afrai often select an individual to be responsible for her well-being. The selected individual is usually an asari that is similar in age to the Vash-Afrai. This is done in order to spare the Vash-Afrai the potential loss of her so-called 'advocate'. The relationship between a Vash-Afrai and her advocate almost always develops into a romantic relationship. Even though in modern days a krogan could also be chosen as an advocate, it is very unlikely, as krogan usually lack the delicacy preferred by Vash-Afrai.

A long lived Vash-Afrai bears almost 1500 children throughout her life, enough to populate a small settlement. In modern times this presents a unique employment for Vash-Afrai. Asari corporations that specialise in colonisation are inclined to employ Vash-Afrai families because the initial growth of the settlement is ensured.

Initial development of such settlements begins with the mother and her immediate family. As the daughters mature they help raise their younger sisters, often adopting them, lightening the mother's responsibilities. Daughters that in their maiden stage decide to explore often return with their partners, further increasing the settlement's population with their own offspring.

Settlements initially founded by such Vash-Afrai exist to this day, such as Nos Avira on Illium, now a full-fledged city, founded by Avira T'Naya in 1674 CE.

That explains a question i had about Asari then. Seeing as in the lore, Ardat-yaksi and most commonly born through pure-blood relations, hence why it always appears Asari prefer other races to their own kind, obviously it's rare, just slightly more likely to happen so there's nothing really stopping pure-blood relations.

From what i have been told, Ardat-yakshi were fairly chaotic creatures back during when asari where still living in their equivalent to huts and medieval era, that occurred when genetic material isn't switched out enough, kind of like with inbreeding would for an immediate example.

So they would lead raids and overrun over tribes to help with reshuffling their genetic diversity to prevent more from coming along, so it's understandable why they would be kept a secret from the rest of the galaxy in the modern age, given how they tend to kill with sex and cause chaos, i guess they are considered hedonists among asari.

Sorry for rambling, I got this information from here and there, so I'm not sure if this can be considered lore/cannon or whatever you would call it, so please  do not  be mad if it turns out to be a load of bull, but I can try to answer some questions if you have any. Granted though, my knowledge is fairly limited.

Okay, what was the question?

Although keep in mind, the above is a pervert's take on asari biology, and it is in no way canon. (No matter how nice that would be.)

This is so well detailed I honestly thought you copied it from somewhere, until I saw the Disclaimer at the bottom.

I actually take this as a compliment.
Means I've succeeded in creating something that seems authentic, which is just what I was aiming for.

It's very authentic, and I bet the Vash-Afrai look really hot to.

I hope I can move forward more steadily with my plans someday to realize that mental image.
