Description I am paper
I am words scrawled in pen
I am nothing but the shadow
That no one let in.

I am darkness
I am the stars in the sky
I am wishing on a rainbow
I am wondering why

I am silence
I am the knock at the door
I am the answer they receive
I am the hope that is no more

I am wishes
I am hopes and dreams
I am left on the roadside
I am the silent scream

I am forgotten
I am lost in time
I am no longer my own
I am but a simple rhyme

I am paper
I am words scrawled in pen

Ooohh....nice. I really like the first/last stanza. And all the rest too, but especially those. ^_^ I've read a lot of "I am" poems (it's basically a form, and as a teacher-in-training I've been told a bit about various uses for assigning them in the classroom)...but anyway, this is really the best "I am" poem I think I've ever read. Really quintessential. I've seen so many, and even the best usually only suceed on the personal level, but aren't actually Good Poems. This, I think, is also a Good Poem. Great job! ^_^

thanks so much! i'm not gonna lie i totally look forward to your comments because they always reaffirm me in my own skills as a writer, which i think is more important than people are aware of...so ya you're like my favorite person when it comes to feedback...

Ehehehe...glad I can help. I agree, it's nice to get the affirmation. Mostly all I ever got was loads and loads of critique - kindly meant of course, but still mostly about how I could "improve". Which, you know, was good for me at the time, but I really coulda used some nice words at times. So I like to spread the encouragement whenever I can. And if you want critique, I'll offer it when I see anything. ^_^
