Because no matter how much I like 2, no matter how much I miss 11, no matter how depressing "The End of Time" was, 8th’s regeneration is and always will be, in my opinion, the saddest and most tragic one. Because it is a regeneration story that its only purpose is to kill him, comes as a natural conclusion to his increasingly darker storylines and character, is utterly without hope and where he has no chance to succeed. I actually consider it the one closest to complete death, in this case suicide: Because he willingly regenerates, giving up his name, to become the antithesis of everything he stands for, someone who he knows will do horrifying things and whom he will spend centuries pretending didn't exist.

Crafted with the hope that Whovians will discover the glory of Protomen and have one more reason to be depressed; That Protofans will discover Doctor Who if they don't know it, and have a small comfort during their long wait for ACT 3 (Seriously, Rory guarded the fucking Pandorica for a smaller amount of time, have mercy on us!); And that fans of both will spontaneously combust because of the awesome, and that perhaps they will do some art too with a hand more skilled than mine.
