i just copied this from the renga portfolio for my classmate... so here's how i do it (i think all of you guys already know this... pagbigyan nyo na lang ako, minsan lang e )

1. after scanning, i adjust the levels (ctrl+L) to clean up the drawing... then i change the lineart color (ctrl+U) a hue/saturation dialogue box appears and i check on colorize, ull notice the change of the color of ur lineart...you can choose the color you want by adjusting the hue and saturation after clicking on 'colorize'

2. now i start coloring... this, i think, is the advantage of a sketchy lineart because you dont have to put too much details on the shading because the lineart already speaks for itself... well, that's just my point of view

3. i save it to jpeg format and re-open it to add the background but dont forget to save it first on .psd file... the background here isnt mine, its a final fantasy x wallpaper, i just thought the color and atmosphere would fit this particular character
