Papa had told me that...sigh...that one day, Discord would discover the full extent of his powers and abuse it.
And with that...our togetherness would end.
Of course, being young, I refused to believe what he had foretold.
Still, I kept it in mind.
One night, when we were asleep in the Everfree Forest, he started to chew on my mane. It was annoying-and mildly embarrassing-but I didn't let it bother me. I knew I would want to remember it someday.
I'm glad I remember.
Another young Dislestia.

So, a little bit of Celestia narration. I like to think that Celestia's father had some level of omnipotence (I think of Elrond from Lord of the Rings, for some reason...), and he knew that Celesta's relationship with Discord would come to an unhappy halt. I'm sure Celestia would even have tried to stop it from happening, except that her attempt to stop it makes it happen.
Oh, Celestia, havn't you learned from classic literature that it never works ?

That is the most amazing background I have ever done . I tried to give her mane and tail a very cotton-candy-like look, but I'm not sure how well I did.
