Description
A lot of younger folk may know him by the dour characters he played in movies like Dogma (1999), Galaxy Quest (1999), The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (2005), and the Harry Potter series (2001-2011).

And maybe those characters were dour because that O.G. edge got dull... In my case, I'll first remember Alan Rickman for being one of the biggest villains in my youth, by the "power of three"... Hans Gruber in Die Hard (1988), Elliot Marston in Quigley Down Under (1990), and the Sheriff of Nottingham in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (1991).

Nearly 8 years since he passed, Mr. Rickman won't be far from my thoughts as the year's end approaches and Christmas movies are considered, for both the Die Hard and the Potter fans.
