Description
And here's page 2 featuring B: the action sequence! Full view please! On this page I reveal who saved our Miraluka heroine in the previous page. I also establish that there are more than one under attack. And just to let you now , the army pummeling the good guys are Sith Troopers(from the games) making the setting of the action somewhere during the early history of the Jedi, where there were armies of Dark Jedi
I also wanted to show most of the action in just one panel where lots of things are happening. Our heroes are pinned, some of them deflecting blasts, some force-pushing the troopers away, while the army closes in on them. I wanted to show a sense of urgency and the realization that these guys are totally screwed
It helps that you also research on the stuff you'll be drawing. In this case I had to browse a bit on Wookiepedia the various alien species and also a bit of the history of the Star Wars universe. Some might say that it's too much work but in my experience a bit of googling will go a long way to help your samples impress the publishers:
- it shows that you are willing to research and do your homework
- it adds a degree of accuracy in terms of details
- it helps you portray the characters better (this is especially if you are unfamiliar with them)
Hope ya'll like!

I've read comics since the early 90s and a fan of Star Wars since the mid 80s and this is better work than Tales of the jedi and better than a lot of what I've seen on marvel and dc. Hope you have your break soon and look forward to seeing/reading your profesional work! Hope you write as well as you draw! Congratulations!

It's just constant practice, It's not easy you wont see improvement right away, but you'll get there eventually^^

Well like I said it won't be quick. Perhaps what you need is to think and approach things from a different perspective. For example, instead of copying a drawing, try sketching an actual object or person for example.

well, I didn't say it will be easy either Start with something that interests you, a female figurine or a robot or action figure. SOmething that will help you see how different shapes "mold" the figure.

im thinking that large blank spots in comics are bad ,, cause you filled everything with something

Not really, one should actually balance the amount of detail and large blank/black spots within the pages^^ The previous page was pretty spacious, so in this one I can put in many details. Filling up everything page after page, will make the pages look cluttered and will tire the reader's eyes.

Two big thumbs-up on the research!! I like to think authors/owners respect your research for the very fact that you're paying attention.

I think what's more important about it is it helpsΒ you understand the stuff you're working on. The more you know, the easier it is for you to draw^^

Insane linearts, Wilson.
I don't know whats wrong with me but the first few panels kinda remind me of Jim Jimenez and/or Lui Antonio... and I mean that as the highest compliment, man.
Looking forward to seeing more
