Description Aaand last page is up! Featuring C: Facial expressions..? Fullview please!

Okay, now comes the Sith superweapon to further ruin the day for our Jedis. But our heroine gets force-pushed away from ground zero- against her will, she'd rather fall in combat along with her master!

I kinda realized too late that my choice of a Miraluka character will make it difficult for me to show an intense expression because, well, she has no frickin' eyes! So I'll have to compensate somehow, and so I went with the dramatic rendering/lighting effect.

Oh, and her master looks veeery familiar

And there ya have it, folks! Hope this proves useful to y'all. Check out page 1 and page 2 too

I dig the close up panel--it has that silent slow-mo, almost frozen feel about it.

Indian ink for my manga
but heck in this country
i live in "mindanao"
there's no Bristol paper
which is sad

You can use any type of thick paper or board that is either smooth or rough enough for you to ink on( like vellum or cartolina). We even sometimes use the back of old pinup calendars

something tells me that speed when inking is the key to getting such smooth lines, at leas twith hair and much of the shading

I think its the strokes, takes a bit of master the necessary control for lines like that

All this is pure awesome sauce. I just might have one critic: if you are supposed to do some SW art, they'll want your own interpretation of one of the most recognizable SW designs, like a storm trooper, some fighter etc... to prove that you can draw their iconic stuff.

batangbatugan In reply to Armel [2010-01-16 07:10:34 +0000 UTC]

Well for this new project they're looking for new designs, especially since it's supposed to be set thousands of years before Episode I. It's important to know what the publishers are looking for, sometimes even if you have to second guess them^^
