I actually have two versions of this same photo. The first one was a bit more vibrant in the green, but I felt Nygma looked too much like a Green Lantern so I ended up saving it (elements of which I did like) and found a another photo taken at the same time where the light wasn't making the green so vibrant.

I'm a huge fan of Batman Forever...to this day it is still my favorite of the Batman movies. And I especially liked Jim Carrey's portrayal of the Riddler. Because the character wasn't a homicidal psychopath in the comics, Carrey blended elements of Frank Gorshin's manic portrayal with the way Jack Nicholson played the Joker and came up with a terrifying and scary version of Edward Nygma. Because he also has the distinction of being the first major Bat-villain to survive in the films (followed by Mr. Freeze and Poison Ivy) its very likely that in some universe where Batman and Robin didn't flop spectacularly Carrey did play the Riddler again.

Because of that influence, I went for a darker, more subdued portrait of the Riddler. I never did find the earlier tuxedo version with the bowler hat, but I was always more partial to his original spandex look. Plus, with the way he was sculpted, he looks far more like a threat than he has any right of being. Which was very much alright with me.
