I have never done sculpted hair (3D or otherwise) but it must be quite tricky! I look foreward to seeing the added detail

I've always loved sculpting hair... I often sculpt little bits of it on my sculpts with kneadable clay.  The trick is to start off with big shapes, then cut smaller shapes and then a few strand details.  i'm at the medium stage right now... but i keep having to re-dynamesh, which makes everything mushy again!

I love seeing all the cool things you sculpt I think my brain would melt if I had to use 3D modelling though. sounds frustrating.

zbrush makes it a lot easier, it's more like sculpting with actual clay.  My day job is doing environment models, everything from trees to urinals to ATV's, and most of that stuff is done in Maya or 3d S. Max.  And that sometimes... God.  My brain hurts.
