Description
Needed a new ID, so I thought I'd post it. I was actually going to use a picture of Ed Sheeran dressed up as Austin Powers, but I really couldn't find a good place on the picture to add text, so I decided to use a picture of Steven Wilson instead. In case you don't know who Steven Wilson is. He's the lead singer of Porcupine Tree, and Blackfield. Also. You need to go look Him and Porcupine Tree up. Now. Because I said so.

Indeed!! Not gonna lie, I like the Porcupine Tree stuff the most, but it's all around pretty good
Can you believe how old he is? I mean, I don't think 47/48 is old at all, but he definitely does not look his age. I auctually thought he was in his mid thirties.

I started with the PorcupineTree stuff in 2007 and started getting into Blackfield shortly after. Then his solo work when he released Grace For Drowning. However,I was really taken by The Raven That Refused To Sing, especially the song itself.Seeing him sing that at a concert with the video of it on the big screen behind him can really bring a tear to your eye.
He discovered the fountain of youth,I still think he looks in his mid thirties.

I only just recently started listening to Porcupine Tree. Like, in this past year. In fact, introduced them to me with This -----> acegallagher.deviantart.com/ar… drawing. Ever since I'd heard this song, I fell in love with the band. It's been taking me a REALLY long time to like their songs. What will happen is, Like, when I first heard "Cure for Optimism" It was the only song I liked. Then I heard "Trains" and really liked it, so on a whim I bought the album "In Absentia". So then I'd heard "The Sound of Muzak" and was OBSESSED with that song. (Pretty sure I drove everybody nuts with it), so those were the only two songs I liked for a while, even though I'd downloaded their entire discography because I couldn't find their music anywhere. So for a while, I'd only liked three songs (The other was "Linton Samuel Dawson") (and I'd totally forgotten that "Trains" existed) and shortly after I downloaded the album on my Xbox, I was fucking in love with "Drown With Me", "Blackest Eyes", "Trains", "The Sound of Muzak". So then after that, like every time I heard one of their songs I was just like "DO I HAVE THIS SONG ON MY IPOD!?!?!?!" (Especially after I'd heard the song "Piano Lessons") and now, I got "Octane Twisted" for Christmas, and I love the song "The Blind House"
I have the album "Blackfield IV" and I'm torn on it. Because it's good, but some of it feels rather....Pop-y. and I have "Grace for Drowning" too, and It's quite mellow. It takes a while for me to like songs, but after I do. I LOVE it!!!
Oh wow. I didn't know he discovered them. And agreed. I think he looks in his mid thirties.

Been meaning to do some kind of fan art about Steven.I tried to draw something based on the song 'The Nostalgia Factory' but that went wrong.
'Piano Lessons' and 'She's Moved On' were the first I heard of Steven and listened to more and more.
This is my collection so far>>>
Still missing a few like Octane Twisted,Coma Divine and Insurgents.
I'm a bit 50/50 with Blackfield IV.Steven was only partially involved in that and it was his final appearance
in a Blackfield album.I wasn't keen on the singer from Suede guest appearing in it either but I loved 'Pills' and 'Jupiter'.

Yeah, Not gonna lie, I'm jealous as fuck
I actually got "Octane Twisted" for Christmas in a Secret Santa I participate in. I got that one and "Signify"
I actually think I like the live version of "The Blind House" just a little bit more than the studio version, which is weird for me because I usually hate live recordings.
"Sense of Insanity" just feels so damn pop-y to me, but I still like it. I have to admit, I like "This Killer" the best as far as Blackfield goes, but I haven't heard a lot of that stuff yet. Plus I love "Go to Hell" because honestly, it's just kind of funny that he made an entire song on like four lyrics.

I've never been a fan of live recordings with a few exceptions of classic Mtv Unplugged shows with Pearl Jam,Alice In Chains
and Nirvana.
I have plenty of faith in Stevens live recordings,I've been to a couple now and they just get better and better.
I did buy Anesthetize and Arriving Somewhere and will get Octane Twisted soon.
Most bands I've listened to over the last 20 years have either somewhat deteriorated or over commercialised or both.
I don't see Stevens work going down hill even after 30 years in the game.
I like 'Blood'.....that has about four words in it!

Yeah. I'm not really a fan of Live recording either, I just don't like listening to all the fans screaming (But honestly, I can't expect them not to be, they did pay to be able to cheer on the bands) and sometimes the band sounds awful live (EX: FOB. just something about them doesn't sound right live)
I do too, I'm hoping to see if he will tour with Porcupine Tree next year (I saw something about that, but Idk how true it really is) I honestly don't care if he comes out with new material on any of his projects (While it would be nice, but not necessary) I'd rather get the chance to see him/them live over hearing forced material.
I think I know what you mean. Too many artists succumb to things like that, rather than being good enough to hold their own. Like (In my opinion anyway) I feel Green Day has sold out. But oddly enough I don't think it was with "American Idiot" like a lot of other people do. I don't think they sold out until they came out with that craptastic song "Oh Love" and then sold it to fucking Twilight. With "Uno!" "Duos!" and "Tre!" Were just awful. I only liked two songs off of "Uno!" and I couldn't bring myself to like the other two, they were just so bad.
But I agree, I don't think his music will deteriorate anytime soon. If his music can still gain fans 30 years into the game, that means it's good enough to survive, and continue to make people happy, which is what it's supposed to do.
I haven't heard that one, so I'll check it out
