Name: Sealing of the Void Origin
SPELL | Normal

 Effect:
Activate only at the beginning of your Main Phase 1. Pay any multiple of 100 LP (min. 200): Excavate a number of cards from the top of your Deck for each multiple of 100 LP you paid, add 1 of those cards to you hand, and if you do, send the remaining cards with the same Card Type of that card to the Graveyard. You cannot Special Summon monsters from your hand, Deck or Extra Deck, also halve any battle damage your opponent would take during the turn you activated this card. You can only activate 1 "Sealing of the Void Origin" per turn.

 Trivia:
- "Sophia, Goddess of Rebirth " and "Tierra, Source of Destruction " appear in this card's artwork: Both are in the distant background, on the top of "Naturia Sacred Tree ", using their respective sphere (Sophia using her white sphere of rebirth and Tierra using her black sphere of destruction) to seal a troupe of infernal demons, presumably the "Infernoids" in their older original forms.

This is the first card of yours I actually dislike, and here's some reasons:

- Sylvan can easily OTK with this card, even without Xyz Summon. It is LITERALLY a cheaper, more effective Soul Charge for them at 3.
- Exodia can easily use this card to find the missing pieces easily. They don't even care about the backdraws.
- Monarchs can easily utilize it too: Pay 100 LP to draw 1 without a drawback. It is a better Upstart Goblin for their deck.

See? Several deck archetypes can use this card for so many things that it is literally better than some of the Limited/Forbidden draw engines. 

The biggest problem here is the lack of minimum and maximum amount of card you can draw with it. If there is a limitation how much card you can excavate, then it would be much more balanced.

The lore is actually awesome, and I can understand what you wanted to achieve with this card. Still, there are problems that needs to be solved.

How about this?

Activate only at the beginning of your Main Phase 1. Pay any multiple of 100 LP (min. 200): Excavate a number of cards from the top of your Deck for each multiple of 100 LP you paid, add 1 of those cards to you hand, and if you do, send the remaining cards with the same Card Type of that card to the Graveyard. If you paid more than 300LP, you cannot Special Summon monsters during the turn you activated this card. If you paid more than 500 LP, you cannot add cards from your Deck to your hand by other card effects during the turn you activated this card. You can only activate 1 “Sealing of the Void Origin” per turn.

But then the problem of being easy draw power without much of a drawback is still here. Now it's look at top 2, choose 1, add it to hand and if you were (un?)lucky, you get to send something to graveyard in addition to getting a new card. To some extend it can be considered to be a better version of Pot of Duality, as it's negative effects can be avoided, and if you really need to get one particular card, it's drawbacks won't really matter to you. Maybe extending life point cost would help it a little, or maybe making its negative effects mandatory.

If you make all the negative effects mandatory, then there is no point for the amount of number you choose EVEN with the LP you pay. As soon as you check 3, it is actually worse than Pot of Duality (since there is a high chance that you will drop cards to Grave you actually don't want to see there - unlike Pot of Duality, where they just return, so no risk in that case), and you cannot go Upstart Goblin anymore. The only way it is actually better than Pot of Duality is if you choose from 2. If anything, maybe it should be modified to "min. 300 LP" that you should pay, so you cannot go for the drop 1 draw 1 strategy.

Well making all negative effects mandatory is one of options I suggested. Honestly, I'm more for in favour of extending LP cost for each card (and moving keystones of triggering negative effects along with it). It would prevent some stupid combos with recovering exodia from the grave and etc., greatly limiting potential number of cards you can send to graveyard with this card (also BTW. Infernoids anybody? I feel like it's kinda ironic that act of sealing of them is a very good piece of support for them).
