Description A Semi-Realistic reconstruction of two therapsids that once lived south of the border, Pampaphoneus and Tiarajudens.

When it comes to reconstructions, Pampaphoneus is depicted in a manner that is literally the polar opposite of how most other anteosaurs are portrayed. People tend to draw it as an agile, fast creature, rather than slow and cumbersome. I myself decided to put Pampaphoneus into a running pose, because there aren't enough reconstructions of anteosaurs doing more aerobic activities. I depicted Pampaphoneus as having a spotted pelt similar to my Titanophoneus, albeit darker in shade. Once it catches prey, it bites their throat and kills them with a destructive death roll, like a sort of stem-mammalian terrestrial crocodile.

After drawing Pampaphoneus, I also decided to add Tiarajudens into the picture, since both animals lived at the same time and place. This makes this my very first drawing of a predator-prey interaction. Tiarajudens (Or as I like to call it, the "Brazilian giant poop rat") is not at all a predator, though it's long pointed tusks (which were somewhat similar to those of the closely related dicynodonts) might have been used for both defense and intraspecific combat. It probably just ate soft plants and ferns. I depict it as a semi-social animal that lives in small groups. If one member of the group spots a predator, it raises its striped, bushy tail and flees, which signals the other Tiarajudens to follow suit. This frightened male Tiarajudens is running away from a hungry female Pampaphoneus, who hasn't eaten for almost half a week. While he has a much higher metabolism than his attacker, he can barely outrun her.

Indeed.
Unless it's anteosaurus. Anteosaurus was too big to run. Lol

Is it bad that I imagine some WWD-style chase music playing in the background?

Nah, if anything, it's perfectly fitting.
