Most of you know I'm a fan of Fosters Home for Imaginary Freinds, and those that do also know I'm a HUGE fan of Coco. Almost to the point of crazy stalkerness.Well, showed me this; ( [link] ), I stuck around and made some comment and now I know a little bit about Coco's possible past;

The "Slug" Coco was a character in another show that I created just before Foster's. When I began developing Foster's I pulled elements from the slug version to create Coco. The idea behind Coco is that she was created by a lonely kid trapped on a desert island. Her design elements are made up of the kids thoughts/surroundings. Her tree head = the palm trees on the island, Her airplane body=the dream of being rescued and nightmare of how the kid ended up on the island, Her red beak=the deflated rubber raft that brought the kid to the island, Her shoeless sunburned feet=all the kid stares at all day, and her name Coco= Coconuts, what the kid lived on. As you can tell I think too much about this stuff. Oh and all the drawings are by me.

You know who the character belongs to and you know I ain't claiming I created her...

Hmm... Didn't consider THAT. I was thinking more they got rescued but Coco got left behind, or they ditched her cause she was made up of all the things that they DIDN'T want to remember about being trapped on an island.

Wow, that's some amazing information you obtained, there. I always thought that Coco's body resembled an airplane because the incident was a plane crash, not a shipwreck...oh well.

Well he didn't say that it was a SHIPWRECK specifically, just that the beak is like the liferaft... In fact, I think the planecrash theory makes more sense cause it might explain why Coco's afraid of flying (The Eurotrish episode has her pulling all sorts of stops to avoid going.)

seriously, that's the FIRST thing i thought when i saw that blog thing. this is a great interpretation of mr. mccrackken's description. and the star fish is a ridiculously cute cameo... thing...

I wonder if the kid ever got rescued. If the kid DIED, Coco would not have been far behind...
Correct me if I'm wrong, BUT an Imaginary dies and ceases to be if totally forgotten. Nobody knew of Coco except her creator. If the kid was dead by the time people came to the island, Coco, having nobody to remember her, was not far from dying.

Yeah, that's kind of my logic for thinking the kid got rescued, but Coco for whatever reason didn't. The kid would have kept her memory SOMEWHERE in his/her brain.
One person (I forget who or where) actually suggested that the reason Coco got left behind MIGHT have been that while her presence was welcome when the kid was stranded keeping her around would have brought back some bad memories for all the good ones.
