A messed up guide on how I paint as requested.
I use SAI, CS3 and a WACOM tablet.
bucket tool, brush tool, pen tool, avoiding the eraser tool
Maybe i should have taken more progress shots...

Anyway some things kept in mind:

== Don't worry about losing your original drawing underneath the mess. Either you try to recreate it afterwards or make a better version. (or a worse one. But don't think that that's pessimistic thinking.)
==Speedpainting practices your attention to shadows and lighting. The time constraints also keeps you worrying about your colors too much. (From what I heard.)
==Using references isn't bad. I learned this late unfortunately.
==If you think you suck that means that theres room for plenty of improvement. Not being able to improve sucks, y'know. (Someone told me once that I'm not improving at all. I wanted to stab him with fork. But I practiced some more instead... While stabbing him with a fork in my head.)
==Now that I think it maybe I should have added a gradient to the sky beforehand. *facepalm* I'll do it later.

I'll try posting progress shots for the final pic... Without the text this time. It's basically just brush, brush pen, Photoshop all over again.
