Soooo after what's happened (if you don't know, this all might make much more sense if you read { TGB } I Held You When You Cried ) Palette hasn't exactly been around for a couple days. Before that actually went on, Starlet wanted to help with the camp fortifications- but how can you tell a kit how much to bring you if they can't count?

So!

This is Starlet's assignment. After being told her numbers, she's been trying to find things to practice counting on- but bugs don't know what "stay still" means and the wind keeps taking away all her leaves. Therefore, why not take advantage of all the cats in the camp?

Only...nobody's really so interested in being counted. Palette and Damek haven't really been around- actually, Mama hasn't been around for a couple days, and everyone won't really say why- and Bernadette and Uncle Psy aren't around either. Neither is Uncle Psy's friend, the one with the really short tail- shorter than her own tail! Castail's still guilty and upset over losing Psych and Charley, Pertinax is undoubtedly missing Psych, and Cyrus has to deal with both his soulbond's grief and his own. And Reuss just missed a spider for this. That's the greatest tragedy of all.

Carry on, sweet Starlet. May your innocence continue to overlook the obvious pains in the world.
