Description
As the metal melted, so did the past moon of stress, worry, and constant work. Her heart tuned itself to the fire's crackle as she stirred it to life, guiding it with twinges of energy from deep within her soul. It was a calming process, giving birth to a flame and raising it to a blaze. Indeed, it was almost as if fire were a kit...though one didn't necessarily have to keep an eye on a kit at all times to make sure they weren't bitten by it. The orange that gleamed over her eye and in the flames was a connection; and Palette adored it. It was the one solid thing she could always count on to stay true.
She became so accustomed to the glow of energy that for once she did not stop when the flame was the height of her foreleg; she let her power surge, testing it. It was not difficult at all, really; she'd been here three seasons and had learned how to procure large flames. Spurting this one was no harder than lifting a rock; she watched as it grew higher, till it could lick her chin if she wanted it too. However, she didn't, and controlling it was almost frighteningly easy.
It got to the point where Palette no longer even had to feed it anymore; it seemed a living thing, burning and raging as it searched for more food. Tendrils of flame surged around Palette, but they did not touch her; it was an exciting sort of thing, to stand amongst living flame. She even let her tattoo fade away just for the thrill of it, the uncertainty.
But then Palette blinked, remembering what she was really supposed to be doing. With a blaze of sudden orange in her eye, the flames shrank in oppression as she searched for the lump of silver. Guilt pierced her to see that it had melted over the rocks to almost a liquid consistency, but Palette refused to show any break in her professional attitude. It wouldn't do to let the others know how much she'd enjoyed testing her skills.
Turning, she took a moment to calm herself- heart still pounding- before calling for Akarui to come help her reshape the metal.
YAY CRAPPY FIRE I CHOOSE YOU.
But yeah this is Palette's assignment ;u; And since it was hard to incorporate the other smiths in or throw shading on that one head what with the glow reflected on her face, I wrote some stuff too. I hope this is okay...I could totally imagine Palette doing this. She's such a pyromaniac. XD I realized she'd never really tested herself before, so I figure with all the work and stress of armor-making she would've had a bit of rare fun.
And yeahh. You know she's stressing 'bout all her friends in ET and LT basically Shasta and Damek /shot what with the caiman situation. So of course she's going to have been working her butt off on all this armor~
I'll leave you be now
Palette belongs to me.
Akarui belongs to *xHalfaLife101x
