When I first made Yellow, there was one anon that asked me about the relevance of his smiley pin . I didn’t give the full answer back then because (1) I thought it was too much of a foreign concept, (2) Yellow was just vastly different from the ‘canon’ Anti that we have right now and (3) nobody noticed the pin but that one anon. But now that his presence has died down a bit, I figured it was about time I find the words for the sake of that one one anon who noticed.
Yellow’s smiley pin symbolizes Jack’s happiness. It’s his core, and because Anti and Jack are essentially two sides of the same coin, it’s their core. This is why Yellow panics when the pin falls or disappears, because that means that Jack has either lost his happiness, or slowly losing grip of it.
Which brings me to the concept of Anti being a conscience type of being. He is the ‘bad’ that carries all his negative emotions including, but not limited to, anger, hatred, fear, and pain. This ‘bad’ therefore balances Jack’s ‘good, and you gotta have the bad to appreciate the good.
Of course this weighs Anti down over time, but that doesn’t stop him from trying to carry his weight either way. Anti is Jack and Jack is Anti. They are one and the same.
