I don't know why, but I really seem to like art about Toph and Lin. I definitely see Toph saying this to Lin. Lin's personality seems to kind of reflect it.

I think Toph would say that. Her parents thought little of her and since she was blind, they thought she was weak and couldn't do anything.
Toph would be an excellent mother. She wouldn't push her daughter into what she wants (like her parents did), but let her become her own person.
