Description

Sneaking through the hallways of the palace of the Crystal Empire, Sunset Shimmer makes her way to Princess Twilight's bedroom to steal her crown. But just as she is about to take it, Twilight suddenly wakes up from her sleep. With tears in her eyes. Surprised by this, Sunset forgets her mission and sits down with Twilight.

Twilight tells her of the time her own brother, friends and mentor turned their backs on her after she tried to warn them about Princess Cadance being evil. And despite revealing a sinister plot by the Changeling Queen and her army, the hurt of them abandoning her never truly healed.

Touched by her story, Sunset promises to help her get back at everypony. She tells of a world that can aid in getting their revenge. Curious about this world, Twilight takes her crown with her and follows her to a magic mirror down the hallway.

Once on the other side, Twilight emerges as a different being on a place called Canterlot High. She is helped up by a human called Flash Sentry, who is curious about how she and Sunset emerged from the statue behind them. After telling her story to him, Flash decides to help them with their plan. Twilight is thankful and taken by this act.

During the Fall Formal, Sunset enacts her plan and uses the crown to become a demon. She then turns Twilight and Flash into demons, along with Snips and Snails. She then turns her sights on the crowd of hypnotized teachers and students, turning them all into winged horrors.

With their army complete, Sunset, Twilight and Flash lead them through the portal and into the Crystal Throne Room. There they are met by surprised and horrified Princess Celestia, Luna, the Mane Six, Spike, Cadance and Shining Armor. Against the warnings from their friends, Spike, Cadance and Shining approach Twilight begging for forgiveness for their past actions and pleading her to return to them. Twilight forgives them...

...And all three are turned into demons.

Princess Celestia then challenges Sunset to battle. But despite her efforts, Sunset proves too strong for her. With the Princesses beaten, the Mane Six are surrounded and captured. Fluttershy pleads for mercy and begs Cadance to break free from the demon curse. But her plea is ignored as she is taken away to join the others as they are to be converted as well.

The following days later, Twilight Sparkle and the human now turned demon pony Flash Sentry are wed at the Crystal Palace. With the now demon CMC as flowergirls. Their union is the beginning of the Age of Demons under the rule of Queen Sunset Shimmer.

A sad but interesting take on how the demon invasion of Equestria would've happened if the Canterlot Wedding affected Twilight worse than really she was. Fortunately, it's something that never truly came to pass ^^
