Why you may ask?
I have this head canon that Karl (even though he is full of regret for the murder) would still care for her despite his insane, murderous personality... Although, part of my head canon has changed due to what Unknown-person has said about Karl's (Castle of Nations' Karl) personality.
He has said that Karl is not the strongest or blood-thirstiest, changing my head canon a little but...it still works for me since most of us still don't know what REALLY happened to Rachel...

I suppose you follow the Law of Talos storyline which is actually non-canon for the Castle of Nations storyline. I follow the CoN storyline. Unless, I'm including my character, Ke, then she goes with the afterwards LoT storyline...
When you say finale, I suppose you mean the non-canon entry of round 5 by Unknown. Well, one would only understand what "Rachel" (who was actually Law of Talos in disguise) meant by finale if one read the LoT spectator entries by Unknown.
Only Unknown knows what happened between Karl and Rachel since it's his story and doesn't even say much about those two...
