A few months back, I 3d printed my retrieval ship model at Shapeways. I was delighted with the results. I am having a hard time getting decent pictures of it, though, because of the fact that it white and small, which makes for a terrible subject for digital cameras. Anyway, hopefully you can get an idea of how it turned out, even though these pics don't do it justice.Related content

May I ask what kind of size this is and how much it cost?

The printed model is a little under 16cm long. The printing costs $29.38, plus $6.50 shipping. Shapeways gave me a 10% discount on the printing, so I ended up paying $32.94 total.

Would you be willing to make the model publicly available on shapeways?
If you're concerned about copyright, I doubt it's an issue. The site is filled with Star Wars and Star Trek models.
