Description 6x9 two tone pieced leather journal with parchment for the text block and marbled paper for the end sheet.
Off-set 3 cord spine and hand sewn headbands.

Not a hand crafted cradle book. Not gilded with gold or intricately lined with filigree. Just a simple two toned leather journal to keep all his thoughts as he traveled the back roads of Europe from north of the Alps to the south of Italy.
Monachito was a stout old fellow with a kind heart and the never-ending desire for good company and a tall ale.
He spent most of his life venturing from village to village befriending the locals and assisting the elderly. He loved to laugh and had a soothing voice. He never found himself confronted with troublemakers, for he was quick to veer those of ill thoughts with humor and interesting conversation.
He had many friends across the European lands, some quite famous. From artists to architects, royalty to politicians, he mingled with all, for he was a fair truthful soul. He spoke several languages, quite well in fact and was a master at the art of scribing and grammar.
Monachito lived a long happy life full of adventure helping others and bringing joy to all he passed. For hundreds of years he lived and scribed all his wonderful adventures within his little journal. At least that is the legend.

Deep within the underground tunnels of a monastery is a grand library of old books from many different centuries. Some are chained to there shelf, others kept under lock and key, for they are bound in fine leather and decorated with the rarest of gems and precious metals.
There is one book though that rests far in the back, ignored and covered in dust. It does not have the beauty of the others that are proudly displayed, polished and cleaned. It has been forgotten and has sat undisturbed for hundreds of years. It is the adventures of Monachito. Within it holds the stories of some of the most famous figures in history and some secrets that may never be revealed, for judging a book by its cover seals it in mystery for eternity.

This is a handmade headband, is it? And is the paper of the covers handmade too?

Lovely work, as usual

Yes to both questions. I hand sew all my headbands and Marble my own paper for endsheets.

Wonderfully crafted (as is with all of your amazing work) I love how the two colors come together soooo smoothly and literally perfectly. And the marble is quite eye catching as well. I still would love just sitting back and watching you craft these amazing books. WOW!

This is fantastic!
Though I'd love to know how you tie those edges on the spine, can't seem to find any info on that style.
