Description
It's finally ready! I really pushed myself to the limit this time! It's funny, how simple it looks again, but believe me, it's not. There's so many ridiculous details you probably can't see.For me the drawing is about shipping (of course), but it's really up to a viewer to decide what is going on in the picture. They could be just hanging around, you know!
Oh yeah! I've been a drawer (not a furniture) for one year now! Time to celebrate?
Time used: 34 hours
Layers used: 310 (My poor computer)
Enjoy!

Wow at the textures! I see the detail you put into this and I so appreciate it. The small feathers, the shadowing, the wisps of hair on them both, the gradients in the grass and sky, even the background mountains and tree in great detail. I like the softness of the clouds as well. You did a great job on the characters - they almost look like they are in HD. Great job!

This has to do with "improving skills" right?

First of all: Can I use it as a wallpaper on my desktop?
Second: Yeah, you deserve a great cake for all your work.

Of course you can use it as a wallpaper! You don't even need to ask about such a thing!

Actually, I don't view this as shipping at all.
I really love the detail you've done on the hair for both characters.
If you've been at this for one year, that's definitely longer than most artists for one particular style or subject. I guess "congratulations" are in order!

I won't praise this anymore, because everyone has said what I thought already, it is fantastic after all. The two most glaring issues I see are really. first, their outlines look a little disproportionate, you should probably take a more time redrawing them before committing to finishing such a large project. Second, they have black outlines when everything else does not. Even their hair doesn't have outlines. Maybe you should make an effort to remove the outlines altogether?
has a neat little tutorial for making art without outlines here: [link]
you wouldn't have to do something so extreme as to changing to a different art program, or your style, but maybe just dark colored outlines would be better than black.
once again, it looks great, but not entirely consistent in style.

Thank you, but I don't think I'm ever going to remove the outlines. I tried that technique with two of my drawings (A night together and Why did I ever doubt you). It looked horrible back then (lack of skills), so I decided created my own technique. I probably can create a character without outlines now, but I simply don't want to. It's not my style.

Because you mentioned the details I went ahead and zoomed in. Made me realize that their manes and tails are incredible deatiled. Something as easy-to-do as the grass, you went ahead and made it look like more realistic. Really amazing job.

That grass almost drove me crazy. It took 10 hours alone to draw it. Never again.
I also tried to upload a full-sized picture, but there was some problems with it. I'm just saying that this picture is over three times smaller than the original one, so you still can't quite see every detail of it.
And thank you!

Not exactly. I use a simpler drawing technique with comics. Part 20 has some similarities with this picture, though.
