Dorothea found a wounded bird. Now she is showing it to Siegfried, who doesn't know what to tell her. A typical innocent child, she seems to care too much about it's condition, rather than just let it go. He begins to think about her and the bird.If he told her that it was bound to die, then she'd get upset and run off to who-knows-where. Then again, is death the bird's only salvation?
