So...according to my headcanon, Phineas and Ferb(s) are Dr. Doofenshmirtz's assistants who work with him(yes, they do get paid for that). Phineas loves explaining the ideas and theories that he comes up with, while Ferb(s) prefers staying quiet and helping with the building stuff, though he does come up with brilliant ideas at times. You know him: he mostly a quiet person.Here, they are working on the early planning of the Time Machine. Phineas shows Dr. Doofenshmirtz what he and Ferb(s) have been working on all day. Doofenshmirtz.meticulously scrutinises their work, and are impressed by what they have come up with.
