Thanks to all my opponents, the hosts, my friends Sincerely and Coffee for their help as editors and/or brainstormers, my inkers, and the those of you who read and supported the comic! What a ride! Win or lose I'm happy to have been able to tell Mel's story my way and eagerly await Tickity and UP's interpretation. What they've posted so far is siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiick!
I like to think that after this, Mel reunites with her family finally and then goes on to stop doing only covers and makes a mega popular metal album about fighting things in the afterlife.
Huitzi and Akeyra go find the Aztec afterlife and bang vigourously!
And Huitzilin starts his own line of children's cereal or something.
It's possible too that the Nine's not stuck in 16 coins, but in 16 souls. The characters wouldn't really know, neither do I!

Man ... what a ride it was. You really pulled something great off here. The story drew me in from the start and continued to be just as interesting and exciting all the way through. And to have so many apges and still being able to do so pretty artwork .. that's admireable if anything.

Heh, I remember you mentioned earlier that Burning Avalon had one of the unquestionably darkest concepts for an OCT, and yet you managed to go beyond the impossible and made an unarguably happy ending, and made it work.
Hell, I may be misinterpreting Murdoc's words, but it seems almost as if Melody's song managed to convince the Land of the Dead to stop being so bleak and just let the good guys win.
As for Melody herself, the revelation of who she was in her previous life was pretty surprising, but once again it works flawlessly. Besides that, Melody's personality seems in many ways similar to when she started the tournament but I can tell that in many ways she's more mature/self-confident. From what I've seen, subtle character development like that is really difficult to pull of so kudos on that.

Really impressive work. I'll admit the Harmony/Mel thing caught me off guard, but it doesn't feel out of place but as if I should have seen it coming. Which means you executed the twist well.

Something a little different.
This was an epic entry of epic levels. My heart was banging in my chest as vigourously as Huitzi and Akeyra will be. And then the little twist at the end on how Harmony had been reincarnated long ago (as Melody I'm assu--hey, I see what you did there, only took me forever). And I love the whipping motion Melody does. XD
Well, I guess I should go and check out their entry and see how they match up.
