Raymond aka Shockbolt here. This is a painting I did for the 50 K pageviews celebration over at my own DA gallery a few days ago. I promised my watchers that I'd paint something Middle-Earth / Lord of the rings related, and here it is
This is a scene from the Battle of Osgiliath.

This was both fun and hard at the same time as I'm not a huge fan of masses of people or creatures in a single painting

That must have taken a lot of skill and patience to draw this scene. Ahh, all those brave warriors in shiny plate armor... but I can not take my eyes off the Nazghul. )

Thanks Ardariel! It does take alot of patience to complete a battlescene like this one and the trick is to paint little by little, concentrating on each piece rather than panicking all over it

Amazing! You captured the entire feeling of the heat in the battle and you did a wonderful job capturing the look of the characters, especially the RingWraith! The lighting is just so great and perfect It just too amazing! This should be a DD!
