Description
King Dedede is a major recurring antagonist (and anti-hero) to Kirby in the Kirby video game series, appearing in almost every game, making him the third most recurring major character of the series after Kirby and Waddle Dee. He is the greedy self-proclaimed king of Dream Land, which is located on the quaint planet Pop Star. Although Dedede is a primary antagonist, he is not necessarily evil. Whenever he is the villain of his own volition in the games, it is usually due to selfish mischief, such as stealing food or trying to prove himself better than Kirby. He is more often possessed than a willing antagonist, thrice by the Dark Matter and once by Yin-Yarn. These instances are the only time his actions can be considered "evil". However, despite his greed and selfishness, he sometimes has pure intentions behind his actions. Despite this, he is still the main antagonist in the anime.
