Huh, I guess I forgot to upload this here?I've wanted to do a Guardians fanart piece for a while and I finally got round to doing it. This started out as a warm-up painting but I ended up doing a little more detail. All on one layer (except the background, spots and whiskers, which were added later).

I always try to answer questions, sorry the answer sucks but that was all I did, yeah, colour picking from the areas around where im painting and making the colour lighter to show detail. I want to work on creating a better painting style for myself though because this style is very time-consuming and doesnt really look that good to me.

May I give you a bit of advice (man that's wrong, my art is equal to a five year old's when I compare it to yours). Be careful about changing your style. I tried once, and it looked terrible (My lineart sucks so I tried focusing on that, but my hand is way too shaky) I love your style now because it's unique. Although it's time consuming, I urge you to keep it. The texture you add is awesome and worth the effort.Β
But I guess it's always good to experiment in the drawing program. Maybe you can create a new brush specifically for detail that helps get the job done faster, yet still creates the same amount of texture? You use photoshop right?

I totally understand what you're saying, I meant to say method of painting. Though it's important to be versatile and have a bunch of different styles and methods of drawing, I know it's important to maintain a personal and unique style of your own.
Yeah I need to experiment with brushes and stuff when I get some free time. Yeah I use photoshop.
