These were really quick con sketches done at Joe Con last week in Atlanta. I did a bunch of them, but these were the only ones I took photos of. This was my first time drawing figures at a convention. Definitely harder than it looks. I'm amazed how so many artists can creat some amazing work while people are watching them and asking them all sorts of questions.Related content

Were they straight ink? They turned out great for con sketches, either way.

thanks. no these were loosely penciled first. I can't imagine drawing these in ink. Probably would look a lot different.

I like how simple it is. Great lines and shadows and all. I think it'd be awkward for me to be sketching and people staring and asking questions while I'm at it.

hey, you were at the con! A couple of my friends were there, but they were just in it for the toys, not the art so much, did get a Herb Trimpe signature from them though.

thanks! that's a really kind thing to say. i was blown away by the original art from the 80's... those guys were really amazing comic artists.... so i take that as a huge compliment, thank you.

We're doing okay.. I'm on downtime between books and am getting a little antsy(after all that work, I think I have TOO much freetime, if that's possible), and Dom hates his job. Hopefully he'll find a better one soon..but such is life.
