Description
This woman came up to look at what I and other artists were drawing the other night at our weekly drawing session at a local bar and I was slightly embarrassed. We have a theme every week and this week it was Ex-Cons and their first job as free citizens. And the first thing that popped into my head was this... I wonder what that lady must have thought, without the proper context.Related content

Gosh, this is quite frightening. But very funny and really well-executed! Nice work.

I love this style, and the traditional art. Also, that was a good choice for the topic, also, bus drivers are always ex cons. Always.

I'd be more worried about where his hand was behind the book...

She probably thought "Why, that chap's linework and watercolor skills are quite developed! I enjoy his sense of composition and framing. It reminds me of modernized magazine ads from the 1930s to 1950s! I wish he'd buy me a drink because he is so great."
What kind of setup do you use to do your... uh... en plein air watercolor illustrations?

hahaha, thanks... i like to think she did too.
i kinda have a clunky set up. it's a little art bin watercolor box with a tray. i really want to get one of those travel watercolor kits that fits in my pocket though. I really just need to do it as much as possible at this point.

haha, thanks! yeah...it seemed funny to me at the time, but I suppose many people wouldn't find it funny. I'm not sure I find it funny anymore, haha. ok, maybe a little bit. thanks!
