It's wonderful that you write when you draw these.... creatures, but what do you paint with?

Hey , those are the ingredients for the paints im using in this work..
egg tempera is the base of the paint,
wheat paste attaches the fabric (glue)

That, sounds more like something I'd like to eat (together with the different colours ingredients), but one can't deny the result.

It's really cool how the sketchy parts enhance the more detailed ones.

I am continually in awe of how you use natural materials to create creatures that look so purely alive. In fact, where do you get your materials? I suppose eggs, mushrooms, cotton and wood panel could be gotten at the store, but iron rich clay? Conifer soot? And how do you condense these things into dyes? Teach me your ways!

hey i buy eggs at local farms , cotton is recycled from second hand stores, wood panel is from garbage/ recycled, Mushrooms ink was used here a friend made it, Iron rich clay is hand collected, Conifer soot is made in this case from burning conifer heartwood, which can be collected but this one was given to me as a gift, but you can use birch bark to to the same effect,
Wheat is used to make the glue to attach the cotton,
i work super hard to make sure everything i use is low impact
i never buy anything at the art store, and buy very very little anyway.
email me if you have detailed questions or come visit my studio, or call me,
im happy to consult for free
