Description (This is MS Paint XP pixel art, make sure you see it as such by clicking on it once or twice,  just to make sure.)

I drew this thing many times, but something about it makes it hard to get right. There were several attempts to make this its own submission, including a few Photoshop ones, but they never got anywhere. Ever since I made this account I always wanted it to be all featured and fancy. So at last!

How did it came to be? I wanted a polar gargoyle-like flying mount. The very first one I made even looked like one of those chinese guardian lions, or foo dogs as they're known.  This is why it has such a thick neck. There were loads of different versions and updates of it and eventually I finaly settled with this.

Ages ago I named it Ahool after seeing this image img2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20…
It felt so similar to what I made that I decided that it would be my version of this cryptid. So useful cryptozoology is, they're things more akin to folklore that cannot be copyrighted. I'll say it again, it's perfect to pick and choose from!

By the way, anybody out there who has seen this? tabon.deviantart.com/art/Moooo…
Yeah! It's the same creature. Understandably though it's a bit outdated, it's not as big for exemple.

The hair is indeed cool, but I think the face of the adult is a lot more interesting

Hello, I am a huge fan of your artwork and love your cryptids. I would love to add your artwork on my website with your permission, of course. Also, I am currently filming a documentary in Indonesia about the Orang Bati, a similar cryptid and was wondering if you could do some art on it. I am a huge fan and completely understand if you don't want me to use your images; just keep up the excellent work.

Thank you, but keep in mind that my drawings of cryptids does not exactly reflect their descriptions so there's some artistic liscense involved, they're pretty much made up. So watch out in the way you'll want to use them. If your website is for art, sure, but if it's for an informational article, it'll be like using a picture of D&D's tarrasque for an article about the tarasque of Tarascon. I wouldn't recomend that. Also, it would be strange to use an MS paint pixel art image for a film, if that's what you were meant. I'm sure there are plenty of other artists around who'll fit the bill better for that purpose. I wish you luck!

It would be intereting to make a more bat-like, darker version of my ahool and call it orang-bati, but I already have so many things to work on at the moment, hmm... I'll put it on the waiting list.

I love the chiroptera like nose and tusks on the Ahool.

Another interesting and well done pixel art! I really like how you include the baby and the poses you choose!

One thing that kind of threw me off at first though was the way the wing feathers on the left (our left) bend back towards Ahool. I had to take a couple looks before I realized they weren't bending forward, but backwards, despite the shading on the bottom. I feel like the point closest to the viewer should have brighter lighting on it to show that it's curving away, instead of how it looks rather flat. Alternatively, the top of the wing should have more shading (or something) to show it is further back (this may mess with the lighting though). I don't know if that makes any sense the way I'm explaining it, and I apologize for that. However, that aside, fantastic work as usual! I really like the variety of creatures you draw and the level of detail!

I'm still reflecting on this to this day, and I cannot seem to think of a solution to suit your demands. I am unable to see it the way you do, as it looks perfectly fine to me. Although the wing on our right is the one that bothers me most.

I'll be asking around for more outside opinions on this and put a priority on drawing more wings when practicing.

Sometimes for me, it literally takes me years before I can actually see what other people have said about my art! XD It's entirely possible that I'm just looking at it the wrong way, but the wing was definitely something that stood out to me immediately. It was kind of like those impossible stair illusions, where you think it'll go one way but it doesn't upon closer inspection. Other than that though, I think you did a great job! Sorry if my comments caused any distress, and I wish you all the best with your future practice!

That's the thing, it doesn't look like illusion stairs to me and understand every detail. I showed it to other people to know if they felt confused by it as well, however... they all said they see it fine too. Hrmm. Alright, but that doesn't help you. I'm going to have to shoot a bird dead and pose them to find the answer.

Don't be sorry at all, this is what I want to read. It gives more to lookout for in future pieces. Do you know how many times i'm told I'm perfect? That doesn't give me much to bite into. I need things to ponder on, and wonder. Finding solutions is a joy of life. Thank you.

You've always done fur so well with pixels! Its neck looks so snuggly.

...the baby's little eyebrows. I can see it being held by a volunteer working to save endangered orangutans. Except with that
