I haven’t posted much with these guys lately, but fear not… there will be some neat stuff coming.
This guy is an older, meaner, grumptastic Coastal mix. Covered with scars and very snappy.

Altaix? He's a Leothin. These guys have been around since 2005.

Not your fault at all. Thank you for bringing it to my attention, actually, I do like to keep tabs on this sort of thing and I was not aware of their art previously (although it looks like they watch me). It appears that they posted their Altaix ref 3 months after I posted my Leothin update in 2012:

Ah, I see. These guys are insanely cool by the way. As I look at them and compare, I find that although the base idea is the same, there are a lot of differences between them.
She did change the facial structure up quite a bit, added a bunch of little, yet affective, things to the anatomy (such as feathered crests and a bit of a tweak to the tail feathers) and of course basically deleted the second set of arms and fleshed out some culture for their markings.
I guess you could say it is like looking at a wolf and then looking at a /winged/ wolf. Same idea, but somehow they seem to be from different worlds. Both of your concepts do end up looking unique even though /you/ are indisputably the original creator...(except for the antenae on the head, that one is kind of a dead shot -_-'). Mayhaps you could talk to her and acknowledge that you know?? Better to get it out if you have a problem with it than letting it continue. As much as I love her work...this is still concept theft. But I don't get it fully....Every other idea she has is so original...why take this one now??
