(Go for excited AND scared: the potential for ass-kicking is through the roof--and the atmosphere--but so is the potential for horror. An all-out alien invasion kinda makes secrecy a moot point if things really heat up; if things get intense enough, certain taboos of the Foundation may be broken.
Weaponizing SCPs, for instance. Remotely dropping 447-2 on alien corpses in the middle of their bases; making the aliens think they're all toasters; etc...
And let's not forget the other factions, like the GOC and Cahos Insurgency. That's a whole deck of wild cards in itself.
But! Rule of Cool, and there's an invasion to deal with! Let's get out there and show them they picked the wrong bloody planet!)

(Weaponized SCPs?! Now I feel sorry for the alien invaders. And who's to say EXALT won't team up with the Chaos Insurgency and becoming even more dangerous?
