Apparently I never submitted this [wtf!?!?!?!] and since I just spiced up my journal with it, I'm putting it up now.I made this for a contest on [link] in which we had to represent a beta fish. (: my favorite part is the bubble-cigarette, I think. And the CHAIR which took me FOREVER. with like three references. I also am quite fond of the palette.
The base is my own.

I made it a bit ago, so I don't remember *exactly* but...well, very few of my dolls take less than 3/4 days. Lineart alone usually takes a couple of hours, and I constantly get burned out and take breaks...so I'll work for like...2 hours, maybe, and then drop it until the next day.
The Aetre and Charlie doll I have in here took me a week and a half, on and off. >.<:

Personally, I don't start shading until all the lineart looks like a finished piece by itself. I figure, if the *lineart* doesn't look good...then neither will the doll, once it's shaded. And I don't move on from any garment until the previous is done...I'm somewhat obsessive compulsive about it. ^.^ also about working from the bottom up, starting at the layer above the skin...dunno why...XD

I usualy get the position of the body to something I like, or edit the base I'm using [[even if you won't see the edits throught he clothes... I'm obsessive over that.

I flatten out the base shading, then make minor edits, then put on the lineart, and then I edit the base more until it looks like what I want...but I don't generally edit pose very much, I just trim off a pixel here, clean up a few pixels there, generally smooth out the curves and fix blaring anatomy errors...(;

Actually, though, a doll gets posted every fourth day by ^ShoneGold . (: They're always on original bases, however. If you have suggestions of baseless or original-based dolls that deserve DDs, totally sent ^ShoneGold a note!
