I was invited to participate in the Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade one time with a few of my friends, and of course I said yes because I'll jump at the chance to show support for my LGBT friends and family, also, I'll try anything once. And I'm so glad I did, the whole night was an absolute hoot. I'm sitting on a pink cadillac with white leather upholstery (noice!), which was our ride for the parade circuit. I made the tulle bustle skirt and the veiled head piece (got some help from a seamstress) that I beaded myself til my fingers bled, but hey, it was well worth the torture, you could've seen that thing reflecting from space! And of course I did my own make-up, which took almost as long as the hat beading - hehe. Oh, and no I didn't forget to put make-up on my chest as well (it's usually naturally white enough), that is bad sunburn I got (through my sunscreen mind you) whilst standing around waiting for the parade to begin... It's hard being me!!
